Students who meet the criteria below and submit an application by the deadline will earn the distinction of "Scholar" on their diploma and receive graduation tassels.  

Application Deadlines:

• March 20 - For May or August degrees 
• October 30 - For December degrees 

Departmental scholar requirements:

• Declared NEU major
• Minimum GPA: 3.5
• Completion of eligible course work:
  • Option 1: Two scholars courses
  • Option 2: Two 400G, 500, or 600 level courses
  • Option 3: One scholars course and one 400G, 500, or 600 level course
• Completion of 6 credit hours of independent research in the area of neuroscience
• Complete one of the following:
• • Presentation of research at a local, regional, or national scientific conference 
  • Publication of research
• Complete and submit the application by deadline
