Date:
-
Location:
room 200 Funkhauser

Join Pat Whitlow, Director of the Office of Nationally Competitive Awards, on Wednesday, November 16 at 5:30pm in 200 Funkhouser to learn about funding opportunities to pursue research during the summer. This session will feature a panel of students who have received summer research awards including, but not limited to, the National Science Foundation Research Experiences for Undergraduates, Amgen Scholars, and UK Office of Undergraduate Research Summer Research Grants.

The National Science Foundation Research Experiences for Undergraduates (http://www.nsf.gov/crssprgm/reu/reu_search.jsp) funds student research at sites across the U.S. Each student applies for a specific research project in an area funded by the NSF where he/she works closely with the faculty and other researchers at that site.

The Amgen Scholars Program (http://www.amgenscholars.com/) provides financial support and a hands-on research experience at a participating university for undergraduates in science and biotechnology.

The University of Kentucky Office of Undergraduate Research provide Summer Research Grants (http://www.uky.edu/academy/summer-research) to enable students* in any discipline to conduct research at the lab of their choice during the summer.

*Applicants must return as a full-time undergraduate in the fall 2017 semester.*

Space is limited. Students should register to attend: https://uky.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_7OjvDcArAx4nstn
